The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department is asking the public to help identify a suspect in the June 18 burglary of the Bird's Nest Bar in Garrison.
The burglary suspect's picture was taken with a surveillance video camera in the bar.
Anyone with information as to the identification of the suspect is asked to contact Investigator Joe Meyer of the sheriff's department at 829-4749. The caller can remain anonymous.
Meyer said the description of the suspect, based on the video, shows a white male in his late 30s to early 40s, with glasses, a receding hairline and a medium build.
The suspect entered the bar through the back window, but was scared off by the alarms before he took anything.
Meyer said the Bird's Nest Bar has been a target of burglaries in the past, but it doesn't appear the establishment is being singled out for any specific reason.
"It's just a place of business that's not open 24 hours and is known to carry cash on hand, as many bars do," Meyer said. "(The burglaries occur) for no real reason other than it's an opportunity for someone to gain cash."
