C-FL-PL's season ends with 2 losses
PAYNESVILLE - Tyler Wittwer went 2-for-4 with a home run but Crosslake-Fifty Lakes-Pequot Lakes ended its season with an 8-7 loss to Maple Lake in the District 6 Division II tournament Saturday.
Ben Kepner finished 2-3 with a double but took the loss on the mound while Jake Serfling collected three hits for C-FL-PL.
Despite out-hitting Maple Lake, C-FL-PL was unable to overcome five errors.
C-FL-PL lost its first game in the double-elimination tournament 15-5 against Royalton in the second round of the winners' bracket Friday.
Charlie Hollinbeck, Chase Mason and Kepner all added two hits for C-FL-PL, which ends the season 13-8.
