Snyder finishes fifth

A fifth-place finish was Trent Snyder's best in two straight nights of racing his Chevy Monte Carlo in the Yellow Book USA Midwest Series Friday and Saturday.

The Ironton was fifth in a 100-lap feature at Fergus Falls Raceway Friday. D.J. Dondelinger, Brainerd, competed in the feature in a Monte Carlo but did not finish. Earlier, Dondelinger and Snyder finished seventh and sixth in their heat races. Snyder also was the third fastest qualifier.

On Saturday, at I-94 Raceway in Sauk Centre, Snyder finished 13th in the 100-lap Minnesota Governor's Cup. Dondelinger, who finished sixth in his heat, did not finish the feature. Snyder was the fourth fastest qualifier and finished fifth in his heat race.

Dan Fredrickson, a former ASA racer, won both features.

Sweet finishes ninth

ALEXANDRIA -- Brainerd's Rick Sweet raced his Wissota Late Model to a ninth-place finish Saturday at Alexandria Viking Speedway.

Brainerd residents Terrell Thompson, and his father Tommy, finished 10th and 11th.
