NISSWA - A 17-year-old Eden Prairie girl was injured while trying to parasail Sunday afternoon on Lower Cullen Lake in Nisswa, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department reported.
Natalie Lyn Carlson was attempting to parasail by being pulled from the shore by a boat when she struck a pontoon docked nearby, the sheriff's department reported. The accident happened about 1:15 p.m.
Carlson was wearing a life jacket, and witnesses and family members were able to give Carlson first aid until emergency personnel arrived.
The extent of Carlson's injuries weren't known Sunday afternoon, though the sheriff's department described them as non life-threatening. Carlson was treated at the scene by North Ambulance paramedics and transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd, where Sunday afternoon she was reported in good condition.
The driver of the boat, Clayton John Carlson, 52, of Eden Prairie, and a passenger in the boat, Scott Michael Dufour, 44, of Pequot Lakes, were not injured in the accident.
Assisting Crow Wing County Sheriff's deputies at the scene were officers from the Nisswa and Lake Shore police departments.
