The Brainerd VFW baseball team had its season end early Thursday as Wadena blanked Brainerd 5-0 at Adamson field.
Brainerd didn't make things easy on themselves as they committed four errors. They also had a tough time at the plate just getting three hits.
Justin Huether was 1-for-3 with a double while John Vanlandschoot and Devin Roberts added the other two hits.
"We just didn't hit enough," said Brainerd coach Joel Lofstrom. "We hit into two line drive doubleplays and that cost us some momentum. We played well in the last two games but we had some hard luck with hitting, they just didn't fall in."
"But give Wadena credit. They played a good game and had the hits fall in."
Only two innings hurt Brainerd. In the third, Wadena scored three runs and in the sixth they plated two more to put the game out of Brainerd's reach.
Even with the untimely exit, Lofstrom is happy with what his team accomplished.
"It was a very good season," Lofstrom said. "The kids really enjoyed the season and they improved a lot from the beginning to the end."
