Most valuable players were determined in the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department's inaugural Midseason Softball Slam, which was played July 16-17 at Buffalo Hills Lions Park.
MVPs in the Petite Midseason Slam July 17 were Amber Schmaltz from the Force and Kaley Thurstin of the Heat. Schwartz led the Force's 30-7 victory over the Heat with a triple and five singles. Thurstin was 4-for-4 with a triple and three singles for the Heat.
Alli Franzen (left) and Simone Boyd Evans were most valuable players in the Junior League Midseason Slam.
Simone Boyd Evans from the Force and Alli Franzen of the Heat took MVP honors in the Junior League Midseason Slam July 17 as the Force defeated the Heat 12-9. Franzen went 4-4 with three doubles and a single. Boyd Evans was 4-4 with a triple, two singles and a walk to help her team to victory.
Allison Herron (left) and Nicole Hansen were most valuable players in the Senior League Midseason Slam.
The Heat defeated the Force 32-17 in the Senior League Midseason Slam July 16. Leading the Heat's win with a triple, double and two singles was MVP Allison Herron. Nicole Hanson, MVP for the Force, had a triple, double, two singles and three RBIs.
