Orlando 'Ole' Veaasen

HILLMAN - Orlando "Ole" Veaasen, 78-year-old resident of Hillman, Minn., passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009, at the Pierz Villa in Pierz, Minn. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Holy Cross Church in Onamia, Minn., with Pastor Kris Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Lake Auburn Moravian Church Cemetery in Victoria, Minn., on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2009, at Holy Cross in Onamia, Minn., and one hour prior to service on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Onamia, Minn. Memorials preferred to the Mille Lacs Area Health Foundation and Hospice Program.

Ole is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marian, of Hillman, Minn.; sister, Caumayne (Daryl) Johnson, of Hillman, Minn.; brother-in-law, Merlin (June) Thurk, of Hillman, Minn.; sister-in-law, Virginia (Oscar) Olson, of Bozeman, Mont.; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and caring friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Hazel (Johnson) Veaasen.
