BERTHA - Joe Roline's third-inning single was the only hit for Staples-Motley as it lost to Bertha-Hewitt 10-0 in a five-inning South Subdistrict 6 Legion playoff game Thursday.
Winning pitcher Ryan Denny struck out three and walked one. Losing pitcher Alex Jansson allowed just one earned run.
B-H's Jordan Ashbaugh was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer in the fourth, two runs scored and three RBIs.
