A 16-year-old boy is currently being held in a juvenile detention center in connection with the shooting death of a 19-year-old man Wednesday in Cass Lake, Cass County Sheriff Randy Fisher said today.
Donald A. Kamrowski died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at an outdoor gathering in Cass Lake. Kamrowski and seven others had been drinking near a railroad bridge in a swampy area on the edge of Cass Lake when the shooting occurred.
Authorities continue to investigate why the shooting occurred and who bought the alcohol the teenagers drank. The two teens were acquaintances, said Fisher.
"From interviews with the other youth, it doesn't sound like there was a disagreement or argument," the sheriff said.
Charges may be filed today in the case.
