Denice Dosh, Rt. 9, has been named winner of the Elmer L. Johnson Scholarship Award, sponsored by the Brainerd Trades and Labor Assembly.

30 years ago (1972)

Linda Louise Hagan, the reigning Miss Minnesota, will be in Brainerd Monday afternoon and evening to participate in the annual Miss Brainerd Pageant sponsored by the Brainerd Jaycees.

40 years ago (1962)

Len D. Sallat has been appointed manager of the F.W. Woolworth store here. Sallat succeeds Roger Klein who has been promoted to a managership in Brookdale Shopping Center, Minneapolis.

60 years ago (1942)

The commanding officer at Camp Ripley has suggested that residents of Brainerd do what they can to make the stay of soldiers at the camp and their visits in Brainerd, interesting and attractive.

80 years ago (1922)

Work at the shops in this city was never as rushed as it is at the present time. In all the departments the foremen are hiring men as fast as they can get them and a few hundred could get work if they are skilled in any of the departments.
