No more "There's nothing to do," kids. Brainerd Parks and Recreation and the YMCA have a fistful of brochures of summer offerings. There are soccer, swimming, baseball, sailing, dancing, softball and special event days.
30 years ago (1971)
The Brainerd Moose Lodge will hold another of its "nationality dinners" in the Lodge hall Wednesday. Featured for the July Dinner will be "Sukayaki" of Japanese origin.
40 years ago (1961)
Mills Motor finished 16 points ahead of its closest pursuer in the final standings of the Brainerd Horseshoe League, which now is making plans for a tournament.
60 years ago (1941)
Unusual enthusiasm has been exhibited in Brainerd and other cities where aluminum collection campaign is in progress. Early indications are that Brainerd housewives and home owners plan to make this community's drive a successful one.
