Clive M. Kechely

SHAKOPEE -- Clive Morrill Kechely, 79, New Market, died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at St. Gertrude's Health Center of Shakopee.

He was born April 12, 1921, in Valley City, N.D., and raised by John and Dora Kechely in Fort Ripley. He married Betty Meyer on July 11, 1942. They lived in the New Market area. He worked as a welder, holding several jobs in the Savage, Chanhassen and Belle Plaine areas, and after 13 years, retired from Gedneys of Chaska in 1986. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Jack Fink, Shakopee, Gary, Brainerd, Greg, Shakopee, Richard, Shakopee, James, Gaylord, and Jeffrey Kechely, Shakopee; seven daughters, Janice Hertaus, Prior Lake, Patsy Kechely, Prior Lake, Kathleen Ekblad, Shakopee, Suzanne Berger, Savage, and Deborah Batson, Phoenix, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Morrill, Benedict; and two sisters, Gladys Scott, Washington, and Lorna Gardlin, Duluth.

A granddaughter died earlier.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Prairie Church of Belle Plaine with the Rev. Thomas McCabe officiating. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery of Belle Plaine.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, with parish prayers at 5 p.m., and from 8 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the Fenske-Hayes Funeral Home of Belle Plaine.
