Earl J. Edmundson

DEERWOOD -- Earl James Edmundson, 74, Deerwood, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Abbott northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

He was born July 3, 1926, in Klemme, Iowa, to Matthew and Vivian (Dingman) Edmundson. He married LaVonne Merrill on Nov. 3, 1957, in Marble Rock, Iowa. He was owner and operator of the Deerwood Furniture Store since 1972. He was a member of the Cascade United Methodist Church in Deerwood. He was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post 557 in Deerwood. He was past president of the Deerwood Civic and Commerce and Highway 6 Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ty and Troy "Goober" Edmundson, both of Deerwood; one brother, Daryle Edmundson, California one sister, Edna Howick, Deerwood; and four grandchildren.

His parents and several brothers and sisters died earlier.

Services will be 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Cascade untied Methodist Church in Deerwood, with the Rev. Mark Marston officiating. Burial will be at the Deerwood Scandia Cemetery in Deerwood with full military rites given by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post 557 on Deerwood.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby and one hour prior to services at the church.
