Brainerd Parks and Recreation Night is scheduled Saturday at Mills Field.
The event will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with Brainerd Pony, Bronco and Mustang league coaches vs. coaches baseball game. The game is for all head and assistant coaches. Youths are encouraged to attend to root on their coaches.
From 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. there will be a picnic for all Brainerd Parks and Recreation coaches, players and parents. Hot dogs and pop will be served. Youths from all Brainerd Parks and Recreation programs are welcome to attend.
The events will be followed by the Blue Thunder playing Thunder Bay. Brainerd umpire Dave "Jonesy" Jones, who is completing his 25th year of umpiring for the Brainerd Parks and Recreation Department, will throw out the first pitch.
Cost for all of the events, including the coaches game, picnic and tickets to the Blue Thunder game, is $3 for coaches, $5 for youths wearing their team jerseys and $7 for parents.

Jon Sauer ties for championship
INDEPENDENCE - Jon Sauer of Tianna Country Club in Walker shot a 70 Wednesday to tie for first place in the Amateur Championship of the Minnesota Golf Association at Windsong Farm.
Sauer tied Trent Peterson and Parker Pemberton for the championship with a 211 total. Pemberton shot 68 in the final round, Peterson 69 and Sauer 70.
Robert Bell of Pierz finished in a tie for fifth with a 214 total. He shot 70 Wednesday after 75-69 in the first two rounds.
Brian Hills of Ruttger's tied for 58th place at 232 after shooting 82 Wednesday. He had 75s in the first two rounds.
