A 51-year-old man was killed Friday after he was pinned by a boat as it was being hoisted into a boathouse on Crow Wing Lake in Fort Ripley Township, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department.
Crow Wing County Sgt. Tim Clarine reported that James Neil Johnson, 51, Grant, was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson's head and neck area apparently became pinned and compressed between the boat and the boathouse, causing the fatal injuries, Clarine said.
Johnson had been visiting the cabin on Crow Wing Lake, Clarine said.
Brainerd Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
The accident was reported at 5:17 p.m. Friday.
