Helen Kunow
LAKE CITY -- Helen C. Kunow, 87, Lake City, formerly of Brainerd, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2003, at Lake City Nursing Home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Gull Lake, Minn., to Victor and Cassie (Hines) Butler. She married Harvey Dixon on June 28, 1935, in Brainerd. They resided in Riverton until his death in 1941. She married Walter Kunow on Sept. 17, 1946, in Rapid City, S.D. He passed away in 1992. She owned and operated a beauty shop on NE Washington and from her home for many years. She was a member of the VFW, American Legion Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and the Elks.
Survivors include her daughter, Roxy and Dave Henderson, Lake City; three grandchildren, Tanya and Kambous Eelani, The Colony, Texas, Kerry (Kathy) Henderson, Cedarbury, Wis., David Clay (Ivonne) Henderson, Plano, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.
Her first husband, Harvey; second husband, Walter; and her parents preceded her in death.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Halvorson-Johnson Funeral Home, Brainerd, with Pastor David Badgley officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Brainerd.
