Names of soldiers and officers on plaque listed

Organizers of the Korean War Memorial dedication ceremony planned for 3 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Brainerd Armory have attempted to find each of the 114 veterans who will be honored on the war memorial plaque but continue to search for more than a dozen veterans and their families.

Charley Extrand, an organizer and 194th Tank Regiment member, said he and other organizers of the event have discovered that 41 members have died.

The plaque in honor of the members of the Headquarters, Headquarters Service Co., and the Medical Detachment who left for service from Brainerd on Jan. 16, 1951, include the following officers and soldiers: Carl E.
