Reed Lander, the son of Tim and Sandy Lander of Merrifield, was named to the dean's list at North Dakota State University for spring quarter.

The following students were named to the president's roll of honor at the University of North Dakota for spring semester: Craig Kaste, Staples; and Brent Lorentz, Wadena.

The following students were named to the dean's list at the University of North Dakota for spring semester: Lindsay Brown, Pequot Lakes; Craig Kaste and Amanda Sorenson, both of Staples; Brent Lorentz, Wadena; Antoinette Blaesing, Walker; and Reed Lander, the son of Tim and Sandy Lander of Merrifield,

Andrea Baker, the daughter of Mike and Dorene Baker of Pequot Lakes, graduated from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. She received a degree in management.

Jana Hallas, the daughter of Jim and Jane Hallas of Brainerd, has been awarded a Daniel Coe Scholarship to attend Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is also a recipient of a theater scholarship. Hallas is a 2000 graduate of Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis.

Amber Sitzman, the daughter of Jim and Pam Sitzman of Pierz, has been accepted for the fall 2000 semester at Southwest State University in Marshall. Sitzman's field of study is undecided.

The following students were named to the dean's list at The University of Memphis for spring semester: Chad White, Deerwood, and Darcie DeFoe, Aitkin.

Danielle Pelzer, the daughter of Douglas and Rita Pelzer of Brainerd, was named to the dean's list at the University of Minnesota College of Human Ecology for spring semester. Pelzer is a senior majoring in Interior Design.

The following students graduated from Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls: Michael Maxe, Brainerd; and Jay Lorch, Gull Lake. Both majored in criminal justice.

Christie Nelson, the daughter of Ruth Tokarczyk of Baxter and George Nelson of Minneapolis, recently attended St. Olaf College's Annual Swim Camp led by national champion coaches and swimmers. The swimmers at the camp improved their physical and psychological swimming skills as well as team spirit through workouts and recreational activities. Campers received instruction through pool sessions, dry-land training and individual analysis.

Alan and Amanda Rademacher, Brainerd, welcome Guilherme Escobar Ferraz Nori, a Youth For Understanding International Exchange Student from Brazil, to the Brainerd High School for the 2000-01 school year.

Melissa Miller, the daughter of Lana and Jerry Miller of Cohasset, and the granddaughter of Orville and Goldie Hazuk and Amy Miller of Brainerd, graduated from Itasca Community College on May 16. She was on the dean's High Honors list for the past two years. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School on June 2. She will be attending St. Cloud State University in the fall.

The following students have been awarded a $7,500 President's Scholarship by the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University for the 2000-01 academic year: Colt Blunt, the son of Jim and Kathy Blunt of Nisswa; Courtney Drake, the daughter of Chris and Cheri Drake of Brainerd; and Laura Furda, the daughter of Dave and Cindy Furda of Brainerd.

Anthony Hoffman, the son of Kenin and Jennifer Hoffman of Brainerd, has been awarded a $6,500 President's Scholarship by the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University for the 2000-01 academic year.

Erika Nunnink, the daughter of Stephen and Randi Nunnink of Brainerd, has been awarded a $6,000 President's Scholarship by the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University for the 2000-01 academic year.

Keith Batholomaus, of Brainerd, recently earned a graduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, in Physical Education.

The Aitkin-Crow Wing Bar Association recently awarded two, $250 scholarships for outstanding participation in the senior mock trial competition. The scholarships went to Dana Moore, of Brainerd, and John Leitner, of Pequot Lakes.
