Barb Owens knows her golf game.
Owens captured the guess your score with the least number of putts breaking ties event July 13 at the Traditional Course during the Breezy Point Resort women's league.
With a 48 and 14 points Owens finished first. Verna Miller placed second with a 44 and 16 putts. Sylvia Schmitt was third with 50 and 17 putts. Fourth place went Martha Polsfuss and her 51 with 18 putts.
Bobbie Griffiths was fifth with 52 and 16. Jean Appleton scored 54 and 18 to tie Patty Carlyle, who had 55 and 18. Seventh place went to Sue Marsolais with 56 and 20. In eighth place was Doris Moede with 60 and 21 putts.
Thursday's event will be merry-go-round and will be played at Whitebirch Golf Course.
Legacy women
Darlene Swedin, Jessica Gangl and Brandy Blum each shot 36 on July 15 for a three-way tie for the low score on the Par 3 Course at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.
Deb Kline and Cindy Hardel used the least amount of putts with 17. Erin Books was closest to the pin and Donna Hegstrom sank the longest putt.
On Bobby's Front nine Jo Ellen Einerwold fired a 41 for the low score. Cora Lee Ostlund and Laurel Mezner each needed just 14 putts. Nadine Fraki was closest to the pin and Julie Stanton drained the longest putt.
The Legacy women's league scramble is July 29.
Nine and Wine
Reggie and Cindy Clow, with Donna and Tom Motzko, shot a 35 to win the scramble event July 15 during Grand View Lodge's coed Nine and Wine at The Pines.
Four teams shot 36, and after a scorecard playoff, Arla, Jeff and Rose Johnson, along with Marian Duffy, finished second.
Cheryl and Terry Stansfield teamed with Tom and Marguarite Baker for third. Fourth went to Candace Prigge, Byrne Hildebrand and Marlys and Marty Guse.
In fifth was Cathy Seczko, Jill Roeder, Janine Zitzow and Sue Marsolais.
Three teams also tied with 38s.
Longest putts went to Joan McBrien and Marty Guse. Closest to the pin went to Terry Stansfield and Carol Meyer.
On the Garden Course the scramble winners were Kathy Edmunds, Mary Deyoe and Lori and Joe Ertman with a 39.
The next coed Nine and Wine is Aug. 19 at Deacon's Lodge.
Pine River Country Club
On July 10 the game of the day was bingo bango bongo.
Mary Jean Herdey and Karen Boche tied for first place. Donna Balzer, Phyllis Anderson and Dora Lind tied for 2nd place.
The Pine River Country Club women's golf league is playing each Thursday morning through Sept. 11. All women are welcome. Coffee, goodies and sign-in is at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
