SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- Arline B. (Miller) Bettendorf, a 34-year resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz., passed away peacefully at the home of her son, Terrence, in Battle Creek, Mich., with family by her side on July 17, 2005.
Arline was born May 3, 1922, in Little Falls, Minn. She was the wife of a career military officer. Arline was a wonderful mother, who was active in scouts, school activities and various other social and faith organizations. They settled in Sierra Vista in 1971. Arline was active as a volunteer and leader in numerous civilian and military organizations as well as her church.
Arline was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Henry J. Bettendorf; daughter, Kathleen Stahl; parents and siblings.
Arline is survived by her children, Richard Bettendorf, Linda Trainor, Terrence Bettendorf and Robert Bettendorf; 12 grandchildren, Kate and David Bettendorf, Victoria Frick, Jennifer Stahl, Kelly, Leslie and Josef Trainor, Terrence Jr. and Tamara Bettendorf, Vynnette Peevy, Leo Rodriguez and Justin Bettendorf; three great-grandchildren, Shae, Greyson and Ashton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her companion of 18 years, Frank Wolleon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 25, 2005, with interment at the Post Cemetery, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.
