Marines' Gull Lake swim surpassed goal

On July 1, three Marines and the mother of a Marine made a relay swim the length of Gull Lake, raising nearly $14,000 for injured Marines and their families.

The swimmers traveled from Cragun's Resort and Conference Center on the south to Bar Harbor Supper Club on the north. Their goal was to raise $10,000 for the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund.

Amy Alvarez, Community Outreach Representative for the Semper Fi Fund, thanked organizers and supporters of the swim for their show of generosity.

The Marine swimmers were Lt. Col. Bill McCollough, Maj. Matt Danner and Capt. Travis Onischuk. Deb Roberts of Nisswa.
