Thelen Heating and Cooling defeated People's Security 27-17 July 16 to move into a tie for second in the cumulative season standings in the men's league at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

Thelen has 46 second-half points to lead all teams, but trails Halverson Law Office by 7.5 points in the overall standings.

Halverson tied Kavanaugh's Resort 22-22.

Having a bye turned out to be a good thing for Thomas & Associates, which moved into a tie for first with Dockside and Mills Motor July 16 in the Breezy Point Resort's Twilight men's league.

Dockside and Mills Motor fell 7-5, while Thomas & Associates used its six points from the bye to move into the tie.

Breezy Point women

The team of Doris Moede, Bugs Schmidt, Bonnie Person and Martha Polsfuss was one of three teams to shot the winning score of 33 in the dice game July 16 in the Breezy Point Resort women's league at the Traditional Course.

The other two teams were Ellen Koshenina, Sue Marsolais, Karen Johnson and Dee Wicks and the team of Sandy O'Day, Bunny Oseland, Barb Owens and Jill Roeder.

In second place, with a 34, was the team of Eileen Henderson, Kathy Zender, Ardelle Cook and Sue Carroll.

Thursday will be the "Golfing with the Stars" invitational tournament. Check-in will be at 7:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. at Whitebirch.

Madden's results

Hugh Phillips and Len Brown teamed up to claim the July 16 shootout event in the Madden's men's league.

Mike Courts and Steve Utern placed second followed by Doug Agre and Glenn Hagberg in third.

Whitefish women

Barb Hanson and Susan Finley shot a 60 to win flight A of the two-person net ball game July 15 in the Whitefish women's 18-hole league.

The tandem of Enga Wodziak and Mary Kay Kendall tied Susan Walstrom and Anita Stensby for second with 67.

Cheryl Bontrager used a blind draw to help win flight B with a 62. Marlys Guse also was helped by a blind draw to finish second with a 63.

Darlene Bonnema and Mary Ann Erickson won flight C with a 66 followed by Judy Eastwood and Sharon Keister and their 67.

Susan Finley shot an individual low net of 65 with Wodziak and Judy Johnson carding birdies.

Linda Randall and Marlene Anderson each had chip-ins.

Wednesday's league event will be followed by the monthly luncheon.

The member/guest event will be July 29.

Pine River women

Eileen Springer won the low gross and Sally Plowman had the low putts in the July 9 women's league at Pine River Country Club.

In the July 16 event, Dorla Lind won the best poker hand game. Carol Lovro placed second and Springer had the low putts.
