ST. CLOUD - Blaine Bubalo struck out seven batters in a complete-game effort and knocked in the winning run in extra innings, guiding Brainerd to a 3-2 win over Sauk Rapids in the North Subdistrict 6 Tournament on Tuesday night.

With the score knotted at 2 in the bottom of the eighth inning, Jack Luke drew a two-out walk and advanced to second on a single by Jack Hegarty before scoring the game-winning run when Bubalo singled to right field.

Hegarty went 3-for-5 on the night and Luke scored once and had an RBI. Brainerd's Kevin Peterson was 3-for-3 with a double and a walk, Nate Eschenbacher 2-for-3 with a double and Pat Skogen had an RBI single.

Brainerd will face Little Falls at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sauk Rapids. If Brainerd loses, it will be eliminated from the tournament, but a win would put it in the section playoffs.
