Staples library celebrates 100 years

The Staples Public Library will celebrate a century of library service with a 100th Birthday Party from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 2. All ages are invited to this celebration that will take place at the Northern Pacific Park across from the government center and library.

Events will begin with a magic show at 5 p.m. featuring Star Michelina. Please bring your own chairs and blankets. At 5:45 p.m. there will be a picnic supper with hot dogs, chips, birthday cake and beverages sponsored by the Friends of the Staples Public Library. (A donation of $3 is suggested.) At 7 p.m., sit down to enjoy a performance by the Staples Community Band.

Library hours at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 2-8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1-5 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
