Music General dancers earn awards in Dance Challenge Nationals
Music General dancers attended the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge Nationals, in June in Palm Springs, Calif.
Thirty dancers from the studio and their families attended the five-day event. The dancers competed with 28 studios from all over the United States.
The Top Five routines in each age division competed again in the Hall of Fame "World Series." Three numbers from Music General were eligible: "I Got Rhythm," juniors; "Blue Girl Group," teens and "Dance Dance," Seniors. All routines were named runners-up.
The judges selected certain outstanding performances from all of the dance categories for entertainment and choreography awards. Receiving the judges' Fabulous Feet Award were "Blue Group," Megan Ridges, "I Got Rhythm," and "Dynamo Volition." The Showmanship Award went to Courtney DeChaine and the Costume Award went to "House of Cards."

The scoring results are as follows:
• "I Got Rhythm," Junior Small Tap Group, platinum award; dancers were Kaitlyn Christianson, Megan Duhn, Abby Holloway, Madison Landsburg, Nikki Leland, Grace Moran and Morgan Steffen.
• "You Can't Always Get What You Want," Teen Small Tap Group, first place platinum; dancers were Kalli Crawford, Courtney DeChaine, Marlee Landsburg, Alexie Larson, Becky Stanwood, Giselle Tamasy and Kelsey Terhaar.
• "Outta Control," Teen Small Jazz Group, High Gold; dancers were Leland, Terhaar, Alexie Larson, Jordan Peterson and Karyn Pfeifer.
• "I Wish," Teen Large Tap Group, platinum; "Home," Teen Large Jazz Group, High Gold; dancers were Christianson, Duhn, Stephanie Groen, Shianna Gustason, Holloway, Sarah Johnson, Leland, Lauren Makey, Ashley Niemann, Jordan Peterson, Pfeifer, Becky Stanford, Becky Stanwood and Steffen.
