Lightning split playoff series

The Lakes Area Lightning split two games in its best of three Lake and Pine League playoffs series against Wolf Lake on Sunday.

The Lightning lost the first game 12-6 as Morgan Shepherd went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Tony Parrish was 2-4 with two RBIs and Fred Weiss was 2-4 with a double and RBI. Brett Cloutier took the loss.

Fred Weiss went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs as the Lightning won the second game 12-2 in six innings. Morgan Shepherd was 2-4 with four RBIs, Parrish and Bronson Shepherd were 2-3 with RBIs and Mark Germain, Michael Rinio and Drew Boland all drove in runs.

Aaron Jenkins pitched a complete game. He allowed one earned run and six hits, walked two and struck out eight.
