Minnesota is home to some talented authors for example Jon Hassler or Kathleen Woodiwisss. We live in an area with rich history, picturesque scenery and cherished experiences from our past.

To capture these attributes, we have begun a writing group.

We invite you to join the Seniors Writing Group at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center.

This is a new group that meets at 10:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesday of the month. By joining this group, you will encourage, critique and offer ideas for writing memoirs or family histories. There will be presentations from writers, time for discussion and sharing of opinions.

Nancy Paulson, a member of the senior center, states that she joined this group because she enjoys writing and being a part of the group motivates her. Everyone in the group shares their writing, expresses ideas and encourages creativity in each other.

If you have aspirations of being a writer, please consider joining this group. The Senior Center is located on the corner of Eighth and Kingwood streets on the north side of Brainerd.

You never know, you may be the next Carl Zapffke or LaVyrle Spencer!
