Online firm helps get home-builders into line with efficiency
As the Web-world flourishes, online companies are popping up everywhere, including Brainerd.
eBuild Online is a national company that assists home-building, contracting and remodeling companies in being more efficient. eBuild Online provides Web site development, e-mail, wireless and training services to its clients.
"We are a one stop shop for these kinds of technologies," Kevin Kuhne, eBuild Online president said.
Kuhne said eBuild Online helps small-to-medium-size businesses get online and use software programs that will benefit their customers. eBuild Online researches each company to get to know the way they do business and makes suggestions about how they could be more efficient.
"If they're in the building industry, we understand their business," Kuhne said.
Kuhne said in some cases all a business needs is a simple Web site, while other businesses need some extravagant software programs, such as NetClerk, BuildTopia, BuildNet Express, BuilderFinish and Salesforce.com. Kuhne believes the best thing about eBuild Online is the technical support they provide for the companies who use these programs.
"We work with the client for whatever they need," Kuhne said.
NetClerk puts building permits online, allowing easy access for those who need them. BuilderFinish is a program that can display a 3-D image of a home, letting the home owners view what it will look like when it is finished. BuilderFinish is used, for example, to see which handles look best on the kitchen cupboards.
Kuhne said people are becoming more tech-savvy, making contractors know more about technology, with the help of eBuild Online.
"When I'm building a $300,000 home, I want to know my contractor can turn on a computer," Kuhne said.
eBuild Online was created a year ago, with the Brainerd office employing two people. Kuhne said the base office in Brainerd will be expanding soon. The company also has a sales team based in Minneapolis.
