Bike Week called off
Motorcycling enthusiasts who were expecting to participate in Bike Week 2000 at Colonel's Brainerd International Raceway will have to wait until next year.
Track manager Scott Quick said on Thursday that the reason was the dates, July 31-Aug. 6, were too conflicting with the annual Sturgis Bike Festival in Deadwood, S.D. from July 7 until July 14.
"After receiving additional input we learned that people were on their way to Sturgis anyway," Quick said.
He said next year the raceway plans to hold Bike Week 2001 a week before the American Motorcyclist Association Classic, which will be held this year from July 28-30.
Brainerd Braves have moved Saturday's originally planned Victory League playoff game with the St. Mathias Saints to 8:30 p.m. tonight at Don Adamson.
