Roadwork begins on Highway 210
Improvements to Highway 210 from the junction of Highway 29 to the junction of Highway 71, west of Hewitt started this week, according to Jim Olson, project engineer at the Minnesota Department of Transportation in Detroit Lakes.
Road crews are replacing centerline culverts on this 11-mile segment of Highway 210. Additionally, turn lanes and by-pas lanes will be constructed for safety improvements. Starting in early August, crews will mill off the top surface of the roadway and replace it with a new smooth driving surface. MnDOT expects the $917,413 project will be completed by mid-September.
During daylight hours, drivers should expect lane closures and short delays when construction crews are replacing culverts and resurfacing the roadway. Construction equipment, personnel and flag people will be located throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to slow down in the work zone.
The Essential Health Plan Joint Powers Board of Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties will meet from 9 to 10 a.m. July 28, at the Wadena County social services board room.
