Three suspects - one 18-year-old man and two 16-year-olds boys - were arrested early Sunday after attempting to break into Easy Riders Sports Shop in Brainerd, the Brainerd Police Department reported.

About 1:50 a.m. officers responded to Easy Riders, 415 Washington St., after an eyewitness reported seeing people on the roof of the building and hearing glass breaking.

Responding officers arrested the two juvenile males and one adult male without incident. Police said the three had tried to break into the building by breaking out a window but bars on the inside of the window stopped them from gaining entrance into the building. The Baxter Police Department and Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department assisted Brainerd officers.

Formal charges against the three suspects is pending from the Crow Wing County Attorney's office.

In a news release, Police Chief Corky McQuiston commended the quick thinking and actions of the public in recognizing the suspicious activity and reporting it immediately, demonstrating how valuable the public's partnership is with law enforcement in thwarting crime.
