Donovan Autey

PINE RIVER - Donovan Autey, age 69, of Pine River, passed away Friday, July 17, 2009, at home.

He was born Aug. 13, 1939, in Minneapolis to Roland and Ethel Autey. Donovan was known for his ability to cut and stack a picture-perfect wood pile and he spent his last days doing the things he loved: gardening and fishing. He especially loved fishing in Canada.

He is survived by his children, Terri Chartrand (Gregg), Debbie Nichols (Jon), Charlene Rawlings (Todd), Jeff Autey, Daniel Autey (Tali), Nathan Autey; brothers, Dick Autey (Penny) and Ted Autey (Joy); sister, Diane Carlson; Janet Autey, the mother of his six children; grandchildren, Joshua, Jenna, Jordan, Jessica and David; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, at Mildred Bible Chapel, Backus, with Pastor Dennis Gellerman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
