Midway edges Lightning 6-5

MENAHGA - For the fourth time this season the Lakes Area Lightning let victory slip away in the final inning, this time a 6-5 12-inning defeat to Midway Thursday.

With two outs and no runners, the Lightning watched a 5-3 lead turn into a 5-5 game as Midway ripped off three straight hits.

Starting pitcher Aaron Jenkins allowed three earned runs and three walks in 10 innings of work. He struck out six.

Tony Parrish tossed 1 1-3 innings allowing three hits and the final run.

Parrish was 3-5 for Lakes Area. Bronson Shepherd and Donavan Daiker were each 1-5 with an RBI and Trevor Thompson and Brett Jenkins each drove in a run.
