The Crow Wing County Dairy Association recently teamed up with Culver's in Baxter to host a milk mustache contest.
Isabelle Bodin of Little Falls sported the best milk mustache in a contest at Culver's in Baxter.
Participants bought a dairy product of their choice and put on their best "milk mustache." Dairy princesses and ambassadors were on hand to photograph the contestants. The photos were posted at Culver's during the final week of June, Dairy Month, and judged by a panel of four judges. Judges were Jodie Tweed from the Brainerd Dispatch, Baxter Mayor Darrell Olson, Jim Pryor from WWWI Radio, and Rosanne Caughey, Crow Wing County American Dairy Association chairperson.
First-place winner was Isabelle Bodin of Little Falls. Second place went to Molly Henderson, Duluth, and Lloyd Romin, Nisswa, was the third-place winner. Culver's donated $1 to the American Dairy Association for each picture.
Molly Henderson of Duluth placed second in the milk mustache contest.
The dairy princesses and ambassadors participated in other Dairy Month promotions, including delivering a basket of dairy products to the parents of the first baby born in June, serving ice cream at Crow Wing Power's annual meeting and Mills Tent Sale, assisting with ice cream sundaes at the Lakes Area Grower's Market and participating in the Hillman and Brainerd parades. A cheese sampling party at Woodland Acres and county fair activities will be August projects.
Dairy princesses Molli Koering and Chelsey Hettver both live on dairy farms. The dairy ambassadors, Cindy Young and Danielle Schubert, do not live on dairy farms, but are involved in promoting the dairy industry throughout the county. Chad Edelman, Ashley Moe, Molly Thesing and Angela Waytashek are assistant ambassadors.
Lloyd Romin of Nisswa took third place in the milk mustache contest.
