Avis B. Eckerson

MONTICELLO -- Avis B. Eckerson, age 82, of Monticello, and formerly of Brainerd, died July 16, 2005. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Community United Methodist Church of Monticello. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery of Brainerd. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel of Monticello.

Avis served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force and worked for the State of Minnesota for 32 years. She is survived by a niece, Barbara (Richard) Goranson, of Big Lake; nephew, Richard (Janelle) Hewitt, of Brainerd; seven great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Laura Eckerson; brother, Keith Eckerson; and sister, Dariel Hewitt.
