Richard Henze

SPRINGTOWN, Texas -- Richard Henze, 69, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at home in Springtown, Texas, after a battle with heart disease and cancer. Memorial service: 6 p.m. Monday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Azle with Pastor Craig Schinnerer officiating. Richard Henze was born Feb. 1, 1934, to Harold and Anna (Steege) Henze in South Dakota. He was the third of six children. He married Phyllis Sipe on May 15, 1956. Richard was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-60 spending time aboard aircraft carriers USS Leyte and USS Forrestal. After living in Boulder, Colo., for 10 years, the family moved to Minnesota where they raised beef cattle and quarter horses. He retired to Springtown, Texas, in 1998. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Orland, David and Ray. Survivors: wife, Phyllis Henze; sons, Richard Henze Jr., and wife, Karen, Fort Worth, Texas, Randy Henze and wife, Tracy of Pewaukee, Wis., Roger Harold Henze and wife, Lora of Brunswick, Maine; sister Arbutus Lange and husband, Clarence of Brooten, Minn.; brother, Terry Henze and wife, Jill of Erie, Colo., and grandchildren, Richard A. Henze III and wife, Kara, Roy, Ryan, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Katherine, Kelsey and Jordan and McKenna; great-grandchild, Kodi Rae. Arrangements: White's Funeral Home Springtown, 401 N.
