BAXTER -- Baxter Police Capt. Dale Walz, along with Crow Wing County Sheriff Dick Ross, will host a child abduction prevention meeting at 7 p.m. Monday at Baxter City Hall.
The meeting is open to the public. Parents are encouraged to attend.
"The purpose of this meeting is informational," Walz said in a news release. "It is an opportunity for law enforcement and residents to come together and learn from each other what we can best do to ensure such a tragedy never occurs in our area."
"The issue of child abduction prevention is one that I have spent years working on," Ross said in a news release. "With the recent abductions of Samantha Runnion and Elizabeth Smart in the national headlines, this horrendous crime is more than ever on the front burner. We have to do everything we can, as a community, to make sure this never happens."
