WINONA (AP) -- The legal battle over a Winona school referendum is over.
The Winona Area Public School Board voted unanimously Thursday night not to ask the Minnesota Supreme Court to review an Appeals Court decision overturning the outcome of the second of two questions on last November's ballot.
Question 1 of the referendum asked taxpayers for $480 per student in additional funding, and Question 2 asked for an additional $150 per student on top of that.
The first question was approved by a comfortable margin, but the initial ballot count found 35 more yes than no votes on the second question.
