Edna V. Richmond

MOTLEY -- Edna Viola Richmond, 84, Motley, died Monday, July 17, 2000, at Country Manor of Sartell.

She was born March 17, 1916, in Koochiching County to Charlie (Carl) and Georgiana Anderson. She spent most of her life in northern and central Minnesota. She married George L. Richmond on Oct. 16, 1937, in Pillager. They lived on the Crow Wing River in Motley for many years. She was a member of the Motley Free Methodist Church.

Survivors include five daughters, Violet Luhman, Fern Rienstra, Edith Esler, Iris Lomnes and Carolyn Birrer; a son, Philip Richmond; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Her husband, a son, George L., a grandchild, four brothers, and a sister, died earlier.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Brenny Funeral Home of Staples with the Rev. Les Crider and the Rev. Don Bundy officiating. Burial will be in Motley Cemetery. Memorials are preferred.
