Bodyworks takes early Twilight lead

The Bodyworks took an early one-point lead to start off the second half of the season by defeating Reichert Bus 9.5-2.5. Peoples Security secured second place with an 8.5-3.5 win.

Bonnie Balzer and Dee Wicks took top honors at Mini Skill Point Thursday at Pine Meadows Women's League.

The two combined for a 42. The individual winner was Dine Bjornson with a 25.

Bob Turcotte and Neal Moede tied for the men's division of 1wood/2iron and putter competition. They bettered the field with a 34.

Joyce Turcotte won the women's side with a 35 followed by Doris Moede who shot a 36.

Chip-ins were by Bud Willis and Ardell Cook

Couples Night is every Friday at 5:15 p.m.

Holes in one

Brynn Larson of Minneapolis aced the 81-yard, par-3, second hole a Fritz's resort on, July 3.

Dick Johnson of Nisswa holed the ninth hole at Fritz's Resort, July 11. He used a wedge on the 97-yard hole.

Dave Couture of Pequot Lakes knocked a 92-yard, nine iron to record his hole in one, July 16, on hole eight at Irish Hills.

Ron Ferris of McKinney, Texas used a 6 iron to score a hole in one on the 176-yard fourth hole at Madden's Pine Beach East Course on, July 18.

Birch Bay League results

Winners of longest putt contest at Birch Bay women's league on, July 10, were Laurie Kappes of Baxter and Allison Brunes of Pequot Lakes.

Mary Ann Sutcliffe of Nisswa and Rosie Brown of Lakeshore chipped within 2 inches of hole July 12. Rosie Brown won the play-off.

Grand Slam Amateur Tournament scheduled

The Grand Slam Amateur, one of Minnesota's largest amateur golf tournaments, will be held at three highly-rated greater Minnesota courses in the Grand Rapids area, August 18-20.

Eagle Ridge, Pokegama and Sugarbrooke will play host to more than 300 golfers ranging from average to proficient amateurs.
