Arvig Enterprises, Perham, doing business as Arvig Communication Systems or ACS, and Home Telephone Co. recently announced it has reached an agreement for Arvig Enterprises to acquire Home Telephone Company headquartered in Grand Meadow, which is located 25 miles south of Rochester.
Home Telephone Co. currently maintains 1,780 telephone access lines, serves more than 600 Internet customers, and provides cable television service to about 300 subscribers through its subsidiary Southern Cablevision.
"The owners of Home Telephone Co. and its subsidiary Southern Cablevision Inc. are pleased to have reached an agreement with a Minnesota-based company with a proven track record of superior service," said Reed Cowan, president of Home Telephone Co.
David Arvig, chief operating officer/vice president of Arvig Enterprises said, "The acquisition of Home Telephone Co. is an important step in the strategic growth of our company as a provider of telephone, digital television and Internet in Minnesota."
Home Telephone will continue to operate as a separate subsidiary of Arvig Enterprises and customers will continue to receive service from Home Telephone Co. Home Telephone customers will not experience any changes or interruption in service as a result of the purchase.
Arvig Communication Systems is a full-service telecommunications provider. In addition to local telephone, digital television and high-speed Internet access, ACS also provides long distance telephone service, business telephone systems, security solutions, cellular phones and service.
