St. Cloud State University will offer a series of football day camps for athletes entering eighth-12th grades this fall.

The camp dates are: July 25, quarterbacks/receivers; July 28, offensive and defensive lineman; July 29, linebackers and defensive backs.

Cost is $40 per session and includes instruction, lunch, dinner and a camp t-shirt. The camp will feature instruction by SCSU head coach Randy Hedberg, defensive coordinator Scott Underwood, offensive coordinator Paul Rudolph and the rest of the Husky coaching staff.

Brainerd VFW to play Staples in playoffs

The Brainerd VFW baseball team earned the top seed in the North Subdistrict 6 playoffs that runss Monday through Wednesday in Menahga and Sebeka.

Brainerd will square off against sixth seeded Staples at 11 a.m. in Menahga.

Lease wins at I-94

Pierz's Cory Lease won the I-94 Great North Legends race July 12 at Sauk Centre and placed third in the Legends race at the Fergus Falls raceway July 11.

D.J. Dondelinger of Brainerd won his heat and placed fourth in the feature race of the Super Stocks at I-94 July 11.
