LITTLE FALLS -- Norman Charles Berger, 82, Little Falls, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at St. Otto's Care Center in Little Falls.
He was born June 20, 1920, in Carney, Mich., to Carl and Eva (Dumas) Berger. He entered the Army on Nov. 13, 1941, and was discharged Oct. 21, 1945. He married Dora Peterson in 1942. She died in 1948. He married Joyce Johnson on Aug. 26, 1950, in Balaton. He worked for the U.S. Soil and Water Conservation Service for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He worked for Anderson Custom Processing in Little Falls until 1985. He was a life member of the Little Falls VFW and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald Berger, Clearwater, Fla., Robert Berger, Pentwater, Mich., and Mark Berger, Little Falls; four daughters, Karen Kuchinski, Deer Lodge, Mont., Janine Cushman, Duluth, Deanna Kasella, Holdingford, and Lisa Segler, Sartell; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Robert Berger, Big Bay, Mich., Clifford Berger, Iron Mountain, Mich., Arnold Berger, Youngstown, Fla., and Eugene Berger, Iron Mountain; and a sister, Ethel Sicard, Appleton, Mich.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Carl Larson officiating. Burial will be in Darling Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday, with a short service of remembrance at 7:30 p.m., and from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.
