Neugebauer powers Bronco League winners

Cory Neugebauer belted two home runs and a double to lead the American League over the National League 18-11 in the 45th annual Bronco League Mid-Season Classic at Bane Park on Sunday.

Neugebauer earned the American League MVP honors while Patrick Donnelly was the National League MVP. Donnelly had a three-run homer and added a single.

The American League jumped to a 13-3 advantage after two innings. In the first inning the AL's first five batters had base hits as Jake Johnson singled, Travis Dixson and Neugebauer each doubled before Pete Goeman and Zach Eastman singled. Following a strikeout, Morgan, Impola, Matt Seigal, Mike Watson, Joe Schley and Cody Hummel hit singles.

In the second inning, the American League added five runs. Mitch Yager and Dixon singled, Neugebauer doubled and Eastman cleared the bases with a home fun. Impola added a base hit in the inning.

The National League's Zach Heidmann hit a leadoff homer in the second and Dan Lepel stroked a two-run homer.

In the fourth inning, Casey Geraets hits a three-run homer for the National League. For the AL, Tyler Koep singled and was driven home by Yager's single.

The American League added to its lead in the fifth as Neugenbauer homered before Goeman, Justin Mertens and Seigal each singled.

Sean McKinney led off the sixth inning with a double for the NL. Chris Schwarze hit a two-run double and Jared Shaw had an RBI single.

In the seventh, the NL's Steve Berndgren doubled and Donnelly connected for a three-run homer. The American League added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh on an RBI single by Brett Skalisky.
