"Poetry in Nature" is the theme of the 71st annual Garden Show sponsored by The Nisswa Garden Club.
The show is scheduled from 2-7 p.m. July 29 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Nisswa.
Members and non-members of the club will display "fruits of their labor" in the Artistic, Horticulture, Potted Plants, Fruits, Vegetables, Herb Sections, Small-Fry, Junior and Teen Invitational divisions.
New this year will be an educational display - not to be judged - of heritage and unusual plants.
Blue-ribbon entries from last year's Garden Show included floral arrangements from Barb Bogdanovich. Lorraine Northagen
In addition to the exhibits, there will be a plant sale, bake sale and seminars by Karl "Karlos" Nordby, a floral designer at Nature's Touch in Nisswa, on flower arranging, and by Jim Sherwood, owner of The Treehouse in Pequot Lakes, on "My Favorite Plants 2009."
Also, a cookbook featuring favorite recipes of club members will be on sale, and Crow Wing County Master Gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions. Coffee, punch and homemade cookies and bars will be available in the refreshment area during the show.
