COLD SPRING - The Brainerd freshmen VFW baseball team improved its record to 26-1-1 as it swept a pair of games from Cold Spring 9-7 and 10-3 Monday.
Taylor Main was the main man on offense in game one for Brainerd as he went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk. Karl Freudenberg and Alex Rohde each finished with two hits, including a double and two RBIs apiece.
In the second game Freudenberg and Burrell Flanagan each went 3-4 with Freudenberg doubling. Joel Martin added two hits, a double and drove in three runs while Rohde was 2-4 with a double and three RBIs.
Mac Jones picked up the win in the opener, going six innings and giving up five runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and four walks. Flanagan won the second game as he gave up three runs, one earned, on three hits while striking out three and walking two.
