Jensen, Stewart repeat; Sweet sweeps

Brad Jensen and Trevor Stewart delivered the one, two punch Saturday, as they continued their hot streaks, returning to North Central Motor Speedway's victory lane.

The Midwest Modified A feature was packed with excitement throughout the field as Erick Thiesse was able to rocket from the second row to grab the early lead and opened up a nice cushion. Trevor Stewart was a mod on a mission as he worked his way through the field, taking second from Troy Jordan on lap nine.

Stewart closed in on Thiesse during the final circuits as a late race caution changed the outcome with Stewart flying on the high side to pass Thiesse and take the clean sweep.

The win marked Stewart's second consecutive trip to victory lane. Thiesse, Jordan, Nick Musel, and George Mattson rounded out the top five.

Roland Hill dominated the Midwest Modified B feature as he took a half a track lead to the finish line. Dan Murray collected second as Luke Hines placed third.

Todd Rizer and Brad Jensen hooked up in the Wissota Street Stock feature at the drop of the green to distance themselves from the field in their fight for first. Jensen broke away from Rizer on lap three to open a comfortable lead.

Numerous cautions in the second half tightened the field, keeping Jensen within range, but he was too strong in the end as Jensen picked up his fourth consecutive feature win.

Rizer, Curt Plante, Donny Thomsen, and John Treichler finished in the top five.

Rick Sweet got out front early in the Wissota Super Stock feature as Kurt Loftis, Dan Yaunick, and Dave Mass battled for second. Mass jumped into second briefly at the halfway point before falling off the pace with ignition problems, leaving Loftis and Yaunick to dual for second.

It was all single file during the closing laps as Sweet cruised to a clean sweep with Loftis in second, followed by points leader Dan Yaunick.

Rob Johnson returned to racing action as he led flag to flag in the Pure Stock A feature to take the win. Doug Miller finished second as Travis Wermter placed third.

Jeff Strecker locked into a three way battle with Kevin Baron and Tom Segler before taking the lead on lap six to win the Pure Stock B feature. Segler and Chad Schwegel rounded out the top three.

Travis Wermter and Brad Dwyer also recorded victories as they dominated the make-up features.
