BLAINE --Gustav "Gus" A. Holz Jr., 62, Blaine, died of cancer Saturday, July 15, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 12, 1937, in Little Falls to the late Gustav Sr. and Esther (Bublitz) Holz. He owned his own business for several years in Anoka and then was employed for 14 years by the Metropolitan Council.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Emily Holz, Blaine; a step-daughter, Linda Holz, Ramsey; four brothers, Robert Holz, Little Falls, Don Holz, St. Cloud, Leroy Holz, Little Falls, and Eddie Holz, Beavertown, Ore.; five sisters, Marie Holz, Little Falls, Bernice Waldvogel, Little Falls, Adeline Kazek, St. Cloud, Millie Rebischke, Little Falls, and Frieda Rebischke, St. Cloud; and a granddaughter.
His parents and two sisters, Eleanor Holz and Irma LaFond, died earlier.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Little Falls with the Rev. Martin Langemo officiating. Burial will be in the Randall Cemetery in Randall.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls and from 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at the church. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
