MERRIFIELD -- Three people were killed in central Minnesota vehicle accidents over the weekend, one in Crow Wing County and two in Todd County.
The victim of a single-car fatal crash Friday has been identified by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Department.
Jody Austin, 40, Champlin, was killed after his vehicle left the road and struck a tree.
Austin was traveling westbound on Country Road 3 and left the roadway on the right side, the sheriff's department reported.
The accident was reported at 10:14 p.m. Friday and occurred on County Road 3, just north of County State Aid Highway 19.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
In Todd County, a 25-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child were killed Sunday when their car collided with a pickup truck on Todd County State Aid Road 11, about six miles southwest of Long Prairie.
Marsha Boe, Osakis, and her son, Tyler Boe, 2, were killed after their vehicle collided with the pickup of Scott Ritter, 29, Long Prairie.
Another passenger in Marsha Boe's vehicle, her son Payton Boe, 4-months, is listed in satisfactory condition at Long Prairie Memorial Hospital.
Ritter was uninjured.
The Todd County Sheriff's Department said the accident was discovered at about 2:15 p.m.
Marsha Boe was dead at the scene. Tyler Boe died at the Long Prairie Hospital.
The accident is being investigated by the Todd County Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
