Motorcyclist injured after colliding with deer
A 37-year-old Grand Rapids motorcyclist was in critical condition Sunday after colliding with a deer on Business Highway 371, four miles south of Brainerd, the State Patrol reported.
Bella Vista/Brainerd Club to meet
The Bella Vista/Brainerd Club (B&B) will gather at the Sawmill Inn in Brainerd and the Bella Vista Highlands Clubhouse for their monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. "The July 7 eighth annual Komen Brainerd Lakes Race for the Cure was a huge success," per Race Chair Christie Jelinski. Of over 2,150 participants, 528 finished the 5K Run. Others walked one mile, five kilometers or cheered everyone else. Over $80,000 was raised. Seventy-five percent of net funds remain in Crow Wing and Cass Counties for grants promoting breast health. The remaining twenty five percent goes directly to the Komen Research and Awards Programs.
